Pick the course you're studying. Its lessons, practice and checks follow that course's syllabus and order.

Practise
Use the lessons, worked examples and practice feedback to fill the gaps. It's for practice only and doesn't count towards mastery.
Check my progress
When you feel ready, answer a check on your own. Your result can count towards your course progress. If you don't pass yet, practise and check again with new questions.
Review
Come back for a review when it's due to see whether it has stuck. Your result can count towards your course progress.
Mock exam
Sit a full paper to practise timing and choosing questions. It's for exam practice only and doesn't count towards mastery.
What counts as progress
Reading a lesson, going through a worked example or doing guided practice helps you learn, but none of them shows on its own that you can do the skill. Your progress goes up when you pass a check. If you don't pass, you're sent back to the lessons and practice for that skill.
Some skills can be checked online; others need real apparatus and a teacher watching. An online activity can't show that you handle apparatus safely, observe carefully or have good lab technique.
My Learning shows your current course, what you've done recently and a suggested next step. It keeps apart what you've visited, tried, still need to practise and passed; opening a page never counts as passing.
Accounts and saving
You don't need an account: every public lesson and quiz works without one. One Mini Education account works on both subject sites, and your Physics and Chemistry records stay separate.
While you're signed in, work you finish can be saved to your account. Work already saved in this browser isn't added when you sign in; you choose whether to import it. Importing can't bring back work that was cleared or saved by an older version of the site.
The saving status tells you where your work is. "Saved on this device" means only this browser has it. "Pending" means it hasn't reached your account yet. "Synced" means your account has it. "Unavailable" means we couldn't check. "Stopped" means syncing is paused until you turn it back on.
Without an account, an unfinished attempt can't be resumed later. With a free account you can resume an unfinished attempt on the same device for 3 hours from when you started it. Premium is still Coming soon; it is planned to let you resume on any device for 3 days, but you can't buy it yet.
Stopping sync, resetting your online learning for a subject, clearing or exporting this browser's data, exporting your account data and deleting your account are separate controls. Clearing this browser doesn't delete your online copy, and resetting online doesn't clear a browser that is offline.
Emails
Creating an account needs one agreement to the Terms and Privacy policy. Marketing email is a separate box, left unticked; leaving it unticked doesn't change your free account.
Security and service messages aren't marketing. If learning reminders become available, you'll be able to turn them on or off separately.
If something isn't working
If saving or your account is down, keep the page open until you finish and check the saving status. Lessons and quizzes still work without an account.
Tell us about a wrong answer, unclear feedback, a broken or hard-to-use page, a syllabus mismatch or an account problem through Contact. Include the page address, what looked wrong and, if you can, the working or source you expected. Never send passwords, one-time codes, recovery codes or payment details.
The confirmation you get means we received your report, not that we agree with it yet. When we make a correction, bigger changes are listed in Updates.
